Project Day 2017-18
San Academy, Pallikarnai observed the Project Day on 15th and 16th December 2017 in their school premises. Dr. P.Kanagavel, scientist, National Institute of wind energy, autonomous research and development institute under ministry of new and renewable energy government of India presided over the event. The school lays emphasis on project based learning as it not only equips the students with what they need to know as part of the curriculum but also prepares them for solving real world issues and problems.
The models and displays for the day were made by the students. The Kindergarten segment themed their display on the National birds of various countries like India, Bahamas,New Zealand and Mauritius.
Following this was presentation of short stories by the younglings of class 1 and class 2. They narrated tales all the way from India to Arab and Egypt. The students of class 3 exuberantly celebrated the harvest festivals of India, USA and Indonesia. This was ensued by the display on Renewable energy made by students of classes 4 and 5.This section proved to be highly informative with the students explaining about the theme. Classes 6-9 drew light to Non - renewable energy sources and the need to use them judiciously. The day concluded on a high note with great appreciation for the students enthusiasm and hardwork that was put in to make the day a grand success.
Project Day 2016-17
             Water is one of the most indispensible element required for survival on Earth.With two-thirds of the planet covered with water and seventy-five percent of our bodies filled with water,one can comprehend the importance of water.To honour this element and to disseminate information about water,San Academy,Pallikarnai observed the Project Day on 21st and 22nd January 2017 in the school premises.
The chief guest for the day was Mr.N. Vedachalam,Scientist- Deep Seas Technology, NIOT.
Each classroom in the school was ornated with a specific aspect of water by each department .While the  Mathematics department chose to educate the audience on meteorology ,the Social Science department chose to spread awareness about Disaster Management .The centre-pieces,a radar and satellite in the Mathematics room and the natural disasters affecting the Earth by Social Science department  , accentuated the essence of the respective themes.
Inspite of water’s abundance ,it is imperative to conserve it as it is a limited and precious resource.Hence,the Sanskrit and the Hindi department drew spotlight on water conservation.The Hindi department’s room also covered diverse topics such as rain water harvesting,dams and drip irrigation with their centre-piece showing the inter-linking of rivers in the country.
Water purification that makes this raw resource consumable by living beings was the central theme of the Science Department who also showed one of the purification processes .
The English Department gave prominence to water and it’s related mythology with a wishing well in the centre of their room.The students also covered various aspects of descent of the river Ganges and its related history.
The German department focussed on Trade and Transport.The  first grade featured uses of water , Health and hygiene and the senior kindergarten drew attention to property,states and origin of water.The most topical aspect ,Water tourism was brought to the fore.
The centre-pieces and the decorations in the room definitely showcased the talents of the students and their knowledge about the topic was deep and a reason for the praises bestowed upon them by not only the members of the school but also their parents.
Project Day 2015-16
The Project day of SAN ACADEMY - PALLIKARANAI was held on 20th December 2015 and Mr.P.Gautam, Professor - Department of Biotechnology,Anna University graced the ocassion with his presence and made the day a memorable one. 'COLOURS' - The theme of the day, truly turned out to be a colourful expo intended to promote and exhibit the extended learning of their vast academic subjects.Undertaking project work on different topics helped the students to strengthen their competence to think and analyze critically and assesses sources and trained the students to work in a co-operative environment.
The students showcased their talents in Language, science, mathematics, computer science, social science, Art, Craft, Music and Dance. Parents and visitors keenly interacted with students who exuded confidence while explaining to them about the various projects and activities that were on display. Every inch of the room spoke of the subject alloted and as a whole was a mass culmination of meticulous learning.
