CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

A school today is no longer confined to rigorous class room instructions.For the all-round development of the students, SAN ACADEMY layssignificant emphasis on the co-curricular activities to enhance their creativity and hone their hidden skills.The core aim of the education is to foster all round development of a child. It means intellectual , moral, sensible and social development. To fulfill these San Academy provides a striking balance between syllabus curriculum, books and co-curricular activities. The intellectual development of the personality is achieved in the classroom where as aesthetic development is acquired only through co-curricular activities. At San Academy , the activities are so planned in focus to enhance the child’s overall personality, self-confidence, healthy physical development. It also promotes emotional, social, cultural and civic values with the objective of achieving better society.

Karate

We at San Academy Kamakoti Nagar offer Karate, the ancient martial art which is extremely popular worldwide, as an option for the students from Class 1 to 10. The students are taught by a maestro once a week. Each year the activity culminates with the Grading Ceremony where the children display the katas, kumite and the various movememts they learnt throughout the year. This enables them to move to the next belt level.

Silambam

Silambam is an ancient form of defense with more than 64 art forms. It is the pride of Tamil Nadu and an oldest form of weapon- based material art. From being a warfare method to being a material art, silambattam has come a long way. Students of our school take up Silambam as their CCE activity. They are trained by an experienced coach and are graded regularly at the end of the academic term.

Aerobics

Aerobics is offered as an option to students of classes 1 to 10. As it is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength training routines with the goal of improving all elements of fitness, along with music, students like to opt for this. Classes are held once a week in the school premises.

Western Dance

Western dance is gaining a lot of poularity among youngsters. Dancing is not only a physical activity but is also becoming a social activity. The various steps involved in the dance, along with the music, helps the students to easily absorb the movements of different dance styles. When the students get into the spirit of dancing they overcome their fears and get into the rhythm. Chidren enjoy this activity.

Ballet

For students who desire to excel in ballet with graceful steps on tip toe, we let them chose ballet and they will be trained under the watchful eyes of an expert. They will be able to adapt well to this artistic dance and attain the mastery of complex skills.

Classical Dance

Classical dance is a conventional dance revealing various emotions with elaborate gestures, steps and poses. Students who are interested in classical dance which portrays poise, dignity and precision of movement can whet their appetite by taking this option. They will be trained by an experienced hand. The students are given the platform to perform in front of an audience in the MargazhiUtsavam conducted by our school in the month of December and various school programmes.

Vocal

The origin of Carnatic music goes back to centuries and is pursued by many wannabe artists. Our trainer gets the best out of her students. Chess

Chess is a sport where the participant has to show his/her mental acumen in outsmarting the opponent. It is a tribute to their memory and cognitive abilities, strategic thinking and attention span. We at San KKN give the opportunity to take up the sport as an activity to enhance the students’ memory and cognitive abilities, strategic thinking and attention span. This board game attains popularity with students opting for some other CCE activity too. The students are given the opportunity to represent our school in competitions too.

SkatingRoller

Roller Skating is becoming popular with children. We have a skating rink in our school for students who opt for the sport. They are trained by a professional. The students consider it as a recreational activity with physical benefits as it requires the skill of both mind and body as well synchronization of every minute moves.
